“Through my work, I try to understand the transcendental elements of the individual and the collective, and what makes us who we are.” – Nicole Remus.

She had this to say about her entry artwork: “Eight: An Anthology” is a mixed media installation made from cassette tapes and newspapers. Exploiting the mechanism of a Cassette tape, the interactive installation enables the viewer to nostalgically rewind and forward through 16 found poems, within the 8 cassettes. The poems consist of words and phrases sourced from various print publications and reassembled by the artist to reflect the socio-political zeitgeist and existential angst. The cassette mechanism features an intricate yet utilitarian design that celebrates the simplicity of its architecture.” – Nicole Remus
