“Through my work, I address issues such as child labour, gender-based violence, mental health challenges and corruption. I illuminate the hidden narratives of marginalized communities, fostering empathy and understanding. I am committed to using art as a platform for change and encourage engagement and action so as to contribute to a Uganda, where all citizens can thrive and realize their full potential.” –  Patience Abigail Mirembe.

She had this to say about her entry artwork: “The drawing invites the viewer to reflect deeply on the consequences of corruption and greed. By portraying Lady Justice holding scales with skulls, it suggests that corruption leads to moral decay and the loss of one’s soul, equating unethical actions with death—whether spiritual, social or even literal.”
