Born in March 1999, Agaba Solomon Peabo is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist based in Kampala, Uganda with particular focus on photography and digital art. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Kyambogo University, Uganda.
Through his innovative use of photography and digital collages, his art usually triggers dialogue across themes that transcend geographical and cultural boundaries. His objectives include creating art that serves as a powerful tool for capturing and reimagining the essence of life. His compositions often entail juxtaposing reality with the surreal, so as to invite viewers to immerse themselves in a world where dreams and aspirations intersect with the tangible.
He had this to say about his selected entry artwork “Transit offers a glimpse into an alternative perspective as depicted by the artist of being on the outside looking in at a couple of travelers that are on the same journey but experiencing it differently.
The artwork explores the notion that simply looking at a traveler isn’t enough to understand or imagine how far they have come or how much further they intend to travel or even why they are in transit.” – Agaba Solomon Peabo.
